Design Your Diploma Frame in Four Choices
You design your diploma frame at our counter in San Antonio. We have been in business since 1984 and have over 40 years of experience. Design help is free. There are four choices to make.
The mat
Over 300 mats in paper, suede, leather and linen. Pick your school colors, or a double mat for a border in two colors. Every mat we use is acid-free.
The frame
Thousands of frame samples, including Roma and Larson-Juhl. Choose natural walnut, cherry or pine, or a black, gold or silver finish.
The glass
UV-filtering glass helps keep the paper and the signatures from fading. Non-glare UV glass cuts reflections. Museum glass is almost invisible.
The layout
Frame one diploma, or put a diploma with a license, a photo or a second certificate in one frame. We can add an engraved plate. A tassel or cap needs a shadow box.
Custom Diploma Frame or Store-Bought Frame?
A store-bought frame costs less and is fine for a print you can replace. A diploma is different, because there is only one. A custom frame from The Frame Gallery is built to fit it and to protect the paper, the ink and the signatures.

What size is a diploma?
The two most common diploma sizes in the United States are 8.5 x 11 inches and 11 x 14 inches. Other common sizes are A4, 8.5 x 14 inches and 12 x 15 inches. Schools do not all use the same size, so we measure every diploma and build the frame to fit.
Can you fix a wrinkled or rolled diploma?
Yes. Bring it in and we will look at it with you. We can dry mount your original so it lies flat again, or scan it and print a clean copy for the frame. You decide which one you want.
Will framing damage my diploma?
No. We use acid-free mats, acid-free backing and acid-free mounting tape, and we seal the back with a dust cover. We only dry mount a diploma when you ask us to.
What glass is best for a diploma?
Our UV glass blocks 99% of UV light, which helps keep the paper and the signatures from fading. We also carry non-glare UV glass and museum glass, which is almost invisible.
Can you frame a diploma with a tassel or a graduation cap?
Yes. A tassel, a cap or another keepsake needs a shadow box, which is deeper than a standard frame. We design and build shadow boxes in our shop.
Do you frame military certificates and professional licenses?
Yes. We frame military certificates, retirement certificates and service awards. We also frame board certifications, medical certificates, real estate licenses and business licenses.
